Learn to build custom functional and interactive Android apps for smartphones and tablets. If you don’t have an Android phone, you can use an emulator to build and design your apps.
Based on the principles of block coding, MIT App Inventor soars you through a world of boundless creativity, where it takes you from technological consumption to technological creation.
It is a web application that will allow you to build and develop applications. MIT App Inventor’s servers will save your current/previous applications and help you keep track of your projects.
You build apps by working with:
- The App Inventor Designer where you will build your app’s interface.
- The App Inventor Blocks Editor where you will assemble your application’s code.
- Test your finished product on your phone or emulator.
[You need a mouse to be able to get access to some of the coding blocks; therefore having a working mouse with a cursor is a requirement for this course. Also you do need a computer to upload material/media files to your project for this course; apart from media file uploads you can design and use most blocks on a tablet or phone]
